Beating bowel cancer with beards

Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer and someone is diagnosed every 15 minutes. Yet if diagnosed early, more than 90% of cases can be treated successfully. That’s why it’s so important to be aware of the symptoms and act on them.

Decembeard is a charity that campaigns tirelessly to raise public awareness of bowel cancer and ensure Governments and health services provide the highest quality care and treatments. They are a charity that relies entirely on voluntary donations and gifts in Wills and by giving a donation you will help fund a range of vital services that give people with bowel cancer help, hope and reassurance.

A good friend of mine Michael Griffiths (pictured below) is doing his part to raise awareness and money for this fantastic charity. Everyday this month Mike will fashion some crazy and creatively festive decorations on his mighty beard. He decorates his beard first thing in the morning before he leaves for work to ensure his beard gets public exposure to the fullest. So if you live in the Golborne area of Warrington or work in Manchester city centre and you see a man walking down the road with a flashing beard, say hi and why not donate a little something to help Mike raise some serious cash for Beating Bowel Cancer.

You can donate to his page here, where you will also find a day by day log of his fantastic beardly creations!
